Wall bed – what to do with bedding?

Wall bed, although  it is known and present on the market for years, raise questions.

In conversations with Clients, one of the most common questions that is asked is:

“What to do with bedding?”

There are two solutions:

  • when ordering a hide-and-seek bed with a couch option, you can choose one that has a storage space for bedding. The Transforms offer includes the Smartbed V Sofa Box model. In it, in the base of the sofa there is a large storage that can be used to hide bedding. But it is not really necessary. This space can be used to store other things.
    Why?
  • every bed hidden in the wardrobe from Transforms has a belt system in its standard equipment. They are placed in two places of the bed and serve just to hold the bedding. Their use is easy and comfortable. A small clasp placed on each of them allows you to quickly “stretch” the bed. Belts keep the bedding in place, and it takes a few seconds to unfasten them. Before sleeping, the belts can be hidden under the mattress. They remain invisible and imperceptible to the user. A nice addition is the fact that the color of the belts is matched to the color of the bed.

That’s how the problem with the quilt, the bedspread is solved. And what about pillows?

Pillows remain where we put them. When closing and opening the beds, they hide in the space between the headboard and the mattress, which effectively holds them and does not require them to be fastened.

The choice of bed type depends entirely on the client’s idea and needs. Lashing straps are installed in all Transforms bed models.

How the belt system looks like can be seen in the pictures from our latest implementation.

Here is the Smartbed V Sofa mattress 140×200, in soft pastel colors.

Details of implementation:

  • housing – Egger Len Beige ST10
  • front of the bed – Kronospan 8685 Snow White
  • edge handle – white
  • sofa – Claude 03 fabric

Wallbeds – quality in the details

It used to say “the devil is in the details.” This saying also works well in the case of designing and building wall beds. To make using them a real pleasure, in our opinion should meet the conditions:

  • the possibility of adjusting the bed to the existing arrangement – a wide range of colors of enclosures and upholstery fabrics is an obvious “must have”.
  • multivariant – in the offer of Transforms, we offer a variety of solutions: from a simple bed without additional buildings, to full development with a wardrobe function, a library, a bookcase.
  • multifunctionality – a bed hidden in the closet, if necessary, during the day should complement the room’s arrangement. That is why we offer beds with the function of a table, desks, sofas.
  • safety and ease of use – Transforms beds are equipped with gas cylinders that give a guarantee (10 years) for easy and safe opening and closing of the bed. In addition, the legs supporting the structure open and level automatically – which protects the mechanism against breakage.
  • additional facilities – the ability to introduce features that increase the comfort of everyday use: additional lighting, modern solutions in cabinets and drawers, light switches, USB ports, or electrical outlets.
  • modern desing

That is, respond to all the needs and expectations of the future user and our Client.

We have chosen one of our recent implementations to illustrate these functions. Smartbed V with wardrobe. There is a place for hangers in it. There is space for clothes stored horizontally. Several drawers of various sizes will accommodate underwear or other small items of clothing. There are shelves prepared for putting additional lighting, audio equipment, with built-in electrical sockets.

A small USB port mounted in the wall of the bed allows you to recharge your electronic devices and at the same time use them during rest.

Apparently everything is obvious. But is your bed hidden in the wardrobe?

Smartbed V bed in Black & White design

Black is universal. And always on time.

In a small space, however, it can be risky – if improperly introduced, it will visually reduce the space of the room. One of the solutions that allows you to apply black without losing light and visually reducing the size is incorporated into the design of mirrors. They brighten the interior, add “air” and … emphasize the elegance of black furniture.

One of our latest implementations is an example of this.

A bedroom in the style of Black & White from Transforms

The room design includes a wardrobe in one of the walls and a Smartbed V with wardrobes. The whole room is kept in black, including window frames. The second color of this space is, strongly contrasting with the color of furniture, the whiteness of individual walls. And mirrors. A very large area of mirrors on the door of a multi-winged built-in wardrobe – it enlivens the stylization of the whole, thanks to which the bedroom is elegant, but neither gloomy nor dark. In the evening, an additional source of light, reflected by the surface of the mirrors and highlighting the bedroom’s qualities are LED strips inserted into the recess of the bed.

Our task was not only to design the Transforms bed, but also the whole wardrobes. Result? Please, assess the effect recorded in the pictures from the project implementation.

Here are the details of the implementation:

– 3030×2740 multi-leaf doors are made of aluminum profiles finished with a black mat from Zobal. The frame was filled with acrylic mirrors. The door has been fitted with the Hettich opening mechanism, the Wing Line 230 model.

– Smartbed V 140×200 bed with built-in wardrobe function in black color Kronospan 0190. Upholstered back of the bed 149×170 is the headrest Wall covered with fabric Aria 19. The bed was matched Amber Dream mattress 140×200, recommended as optimal for beds hidden upright.

Small bedroom – how to design it?

A very small bedroom is a challenge already in the design phase. Which is obvious, there should be room for a bed and a wardrobe. At least. At the same time, the setting of both furniture should allow comfortable use of them. Despite the small space, everyday living in a small bedroom should also be comfortable and allow a smooth movement, without the risk of hitting the equipment and squeezing against the walls. Ensure a good night’s sleep, which will not be a “instead” solution and a compromise between all the mentioned expectations.

Is there a solution that meets all of these criteria?

Wall beds were created with the thought of small bedrooms. Thanks to the fact that the bed remains in a vertical position during the day, we gain an additional space, thanks to which we can move freely around the interior and use, for example, a wardrobe. During the time of rest, the bed meets all the expectations that we have to fall asleep in the evening or going to an afternoon nap. Thanks to modern solutions, the gas tension system with the function of free descent and braking, makes it easy to close and open the bed. A variety of mattress sizes allow you to design and create a bed even for an extremely small, narrow bedroom.

An example of the functionality of beds hidden in the wardrobe is our latest project.
Narrow, quite a long small bedroom with a SmartBed V bed in the basic version. The distances between the wardrobe, the bed and the opposite wall are really small.
Thanks to closing the bed, access to the wall wardrobe is easy and fast. Opening the balcony door and using the terrace is not a problem. After closing the bed, we gain an additional living space, which gives the room a spaciousness and visually enlarges it.

In our implementation, the Smartbed V bed has dimensions adapted to the Amber Dream 160×200 mattress.
For the construction of the bed, plates were used in matt Alpine White 8685 SM and PVC panels in black gloss 0190 MG Black. In addition, the bed is equipped with a Wall 1695X1020 headrest with a PIANO 15 color scheme.

A small bedroom can be cozy, functional and comfortable at the same time. That is why it is worth putting on modernity.

Smartbed V wall bed with a wardrobe and additional equipment

And although each project is different, we always guarantee the quality, functionality and modernity of Transforms solutions.

One of he possibilities of arranging are wall bed in a wardrobe.

That’s how is in our latest Warsaw project. Smartbed V wall bed for mattress 140×200 is a part of functional, extended building with shelves, drawers and a wardrobe with pull-out hangers. The project uses materials in Oxide Vintage Oak and Alpine White colors which create a subdued, harmonious whole. The furniture’s elegance is emphasized by a large headrest type Wall, illuminated with LED strip. For your convenience and on request, the USB port dedicated for charging any mobile devices was built-in (not shown in the picture).
